What does a plant need to grow?

In LZ16 we are trying to find out what plants need to grow? We have set up a fair test - where we have planted seeds in water, seeds in only soil, seeds in cupboards and one plant in a normal growing condition. We are measuring the plants once a week. This is what they look like so far. We will keep you posted regarding their progress.

Planting Herbs- Cariander

Today we planted some coriander.
We put some soil in a pot plant. Mrs Lal sprinkled the cariander seeds on the soil.
After that we covered the seeds with some soil. At last we added some water.

Comparing Pea Seeds with Fresh Peas

Seeds
The seeds in the packet were:

•  hard to open
• pale green
• the skin is really hard

Seed in the water:

• is a bit soft
• light green
• we could open them easily

Fresh  Peas

• soft
• dark green
• they were juicy
• the skin was clear and very soft

Planting Pea Seeds

In LZ16 we planted peas.  We put soil in pot plant and after that Jack put some pea seeds in the soil. Lui watered the seeds.
We are all waitng to see when will happen next!
