Pancakes

In LZ16 we are learning about solid, liquid and gas!

We learnt that when we heat or cool things, they change.
We melted solid butter and it changed into liquid.
We used solid and liquid ingredients to make some PANCAKES.
Milk and eggs are liquid. When we cooked the pancakes the heat turned the water turn into air. We think the smoke coming out of the pancakes was the gas.

Making Butter at School

Today we made butter. We put some fresh cream in a bottle and closed the lid tightly. Everyone took turns to shake the bottle. We had to count to 20 and then backwards from 20. At first the bottle was easy to shake and then it became heavy. The cream became really thick and it turned dark yellow. At last when we opened the bottle the butter was top. We took it out and added some salt. The yummy butter was ready. We tried it with some crackers. Delicious!!

Cheese and Yoghurt Tasting 

Today we tasted some cheddar cheese. It was yellow and soft. It looked like butter and tasted a bit salty. The yoghurt was berry flavoured and it was sweet. Cheese and yoghurt are from milk. 

Dairy Products

Farm to table

In LZ16 we are learning about Dairy Product. Dairy Products are made from Milk. Milk comes from a farm. Cows give us milk.
Ice cream is made from cream. Cream is made from milk.

We made milkshakes.

We put some milk and ice cream in a blender and pushed the start button to mix them.

It was cold and tasted sweet and yummy!

Patterns

We made patterns using different shapes and colours. We draw T shirts with coloured stripped  patterns. We learnt to describe and create patterns. It was so much fun!
